Dorset Council’s Director of Public Health Dorset, Sam Crowe, has been appointed as interim Chief Executive.
He’s taken up the temporary position following the resignation of Matt Prosser, who will be leaving Dorset Council in March to take up the role of Chief Executive of Wellington City Council in New Zealand.
Applications for his successor closed on Sunday 23 February which has seen more than 130 people applying for the post.
A Staffing Committee made up of councillors representing all political groups on the council will recommend the appointment of the next Chief Executive, and the final decision will be made at a meeting of the Full Council on 10 April.
Dorset Council said in a statement: “Having been part of the Senior Leadership Team since 2019, Sam will provide stability to the organisation and ensure that the council continues to operate in a smooth, safe and legal way.”
