Bournemouth charity seeks sponsors to help young people at risk of homelessness

Hope HTS, a charity based in St Swithuns Road South, is calling on businesses, organisations, and individuals to help sponsor young people at risk of homelessness.

The charity has supported over 2,700 people, providing safe accommodation, support, and counselling.

CEO Julie Berti is asking for help to prevent young people from falling into long-term homelessness. Currently, Hope houses 12 residents aged 16 to 25, many of whom come from abusive backgrounds, family breakdowns, or have nowhere to go after leaving care.

Julie said: “Without our support, many of these young people would end up on the streets. Our model offers shelter, counseling, and guidance, helping them become self-sufficient and contribute to the community.”

Hope is seeking sponsors to cover the £129.35 monthly cost of a room for a young person, with options for three months, six months, or longer. This support allows the charity to house more individuals like 24-year-old Harry Langmead, who turned his life around after experiencing homelessness due to family issues.

Harry shared: “I was at rock bottom when Hope offered me a room. With their help, I’m now getting back on track, looking to move out, and pursue a career in accounting or retail management.”

Julie encourages businesses and individuals to get involved: “We welcome visits to show how your support can change a young person’s life.”
