Car found in search for missing east Dorset man

Officers searching for a missing man from Holt have found his vehicle in the Purbeck area.

Dorset Police received a report raising concern for the welfare of 51 year-old Mark Street who had last been seen leaving an address in the Holt area at around 6pm on Wednesday 18 December 2024.

It was reported that Mark had left the address in his vehicle, a blue Mercedes C220, which was found in the Durlston area near Swanage yesterday (Thursday).

Mark is described as five feet six inches tall and of medium to broad build with a tattoo on his right shoulder blade of a devil’s face. It is believed he was wearing a black gilet with a yellow T-shirt, shorts to just above his knees and black Asics trainers. He usually has two gold hoop earrings in his left ear.

Chief Inspector Darren Harris, of Dorset Police, said: “We remain concerned for Mark’s welfare and we are keen to locate him as soon as possible and make sure that he is all right.

“Following the locating of his vehicle, we are focusing our enquiries in the Durlston area and our searches are being supported by the coastguard, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service and volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).

“We are also releasing CCTV and doorbell camera images that show what Mark was believed to be wearing around the time he was last seen.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to please contact us immediately.

“I would also like to repeat our plea to Mark to please make contact with us or your loved ones and let us know where you are, so we can check that you are OK.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Mark’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 19:126.
