Festive Streets to move from Westover Road into Arcade due to forecast strong winds and rain

Organisers of tonight’s Festive Streets in Bournemouth have moved the event from Westover Road into the nearby Arcade because of forecast strong winds and rain.

The free family entertainment and activities are held every Thursday evening from 4pm until 7pm in Bournemouth town centre.

Held at different locations, they’re funded and organised by Bournemouth Town Centre BID in partnership with BCP Council and the Town Centre Improvement Fund.

Tonight’s attractions include:

  • Father Christmas and his elves giving out goodies
  • Free eco arts & crafts with Outside-In
  • Pictures with an animatronic Polar Bear or in the festive ski lift selfie station.
  • Live music from Sound of Soul at 4pm, Bournemouth Concert Brass at 5pm, and Sing People Sing at 6pm.

Paul Kinvig, Chief Operating Officer, Bournemouth Town Centre BID, said: “We’ll have all the attractions planned but in Bournemouth Arcade instead of Westover Road.

“It promises to be a fun evening but safety is our top priority which is why we’ve moved everything under roof just for tonight.”
