Dorset Mind issues rallying call for action on World Mental Health Day

Dorset Mind has issued a rallying call for action on World Mental Health Day.

The charity has called on businesses, employees, family members and individuals to take shared responsibility for the mental health of themselves and others around them – not just at work but at home too.

Dorset Mind says the community should unite to raise awareness and create supportive environments throughout the county where mental wellbeing is a priority.

Linda O’ Sullivan, CEO, said: “We are asking our communities to get behind us, to ensure we can be there to support local people.”

Dr Andy Mayers, Patron, added: “World Mental Health Day this year is a great time to emphasise why we need to prioritise mental health.

“At Dorset Mind, we will continue to complement NHS services to ensure that nobody falls through the cracks.”

Dorset Mind’s website details the support offered across Dorset for adults and young people aged nine upwards.

The charity is asking people to actively help it to be there for anyone who needs its services by fundraising or making a donation.

All donations received stay within Dorset to help support local people.
