New trustees and co-chairs are welcomed at mental health charity Dorset Mind

Mental health charity Dorset Mind has appointed four new trustees.

It has also confirmed Dr Laurence Mynor-Wallis and Charles Alberts as co-chairs.

The announcement comes on the eve of World Mental Health Day on October 10th.

Dr Mynor-Wallis brings clinical expertise to the charity as a consultant psychiatrist working in Poole specialising in adult mental health.

Charles Alberts is global head of wellbeing and employee experience at international law firm Clifford Chance.

The four new trustees – Samuel Crompton, Karen Butcher, Jonathan Wootten, and Elaine Hurl – have experience in digital transformation, finance, marketing, and healthcare.

For World Mental Health Day, Dorset Mind is calling on businesses, employees, family members and individuals to take shared responsibility for the mental health of themselves and others around them – not just at work, but at home too.

Linda O’ Sullivan, Dorset Mind’s CEO, said: “We’re excited to welcome such a talented group of people to our Board of Trustees at a time when mental health is increasingly under the spotlight.

“Their combined experience will be invaluable in driving Dorset Mind’s mission forward to create mentally healthier communities and environments and help us expand our services across the county to provide appropriate support that can be accessed at people’s time of need.”

Dorset Mind’s patron, Dr Andy Mayers, added: “I am delighted with the changes to the Dorset Mind Trustee Board.

“Their expertise and passion for improving mental health in our community will be a true asset for us.”
