Cyclist taken to hospital with serious injury following collision in Poole

A cyclist in his 50s was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious leg injury following a collision in Poole on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 7.55am at the junction of Ringwood Road and Rossmore Road involving a black Honda Civic and a purple mountain bike.

A police cordon was put in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident and carry out an examination of the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Steven Eastwood, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
