Witness appeal after Poole motorcyclist in his 50s suffers life-changing injuries in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision which left a motorcyclist from Poole with serious injuries.

The incident happened around 4.50pm yesterday, Sunday May 12, on the A351 Wareham bypass near to the junction with the A352 Worgret Road.

It involved a grey Ford C-Max and a black Triumph motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle – who’s in his 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are described as life-changing.

The Ford driver sustained minor injuries.

Road closures were put in place while emergency services safely dealt with the incident and carried out an examination of the scene. They were lifted at around 7.30pm.

Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the traffic unit, said: “I am carrying out enquiries to establish what happened and am keen to speak to any witnesses who were in the area.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
