Pedestrian in his 70s seriously injured in car collision dies in hospital

A pedestrian in his 70s who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Bournemouth has died.

The man, who’s local, was involved in a collision with a grey Vauxhall Mokka in Ashley Road, Boscombe, near the junction with Windham Road, shortly after eight o’clock on Wednesday morning.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died yesterday afternoon.

A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

She has been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are very much with the family and loved ones of the man who sadly died following this collision.

“We owe it to them to conduct a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who has not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.”
