Police issue appeal after fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward following a fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth.

The incident occurred at around 4.55pm on Monday 8 April 2024 on West Cliff Road at the junction with Clarendon Road and involved a motorbike and a car, believed to be a silver Vauxhall Astra.

It is reported that the Vauxhall failed to stop at the scene.

The rider of the motorcycle – a woman aged in her 30s from Bournemouth – was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious injury to her leg.

Police Constable Adam Carr, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and we would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, who have not already spoken to police.

“The Vauxhall would have likely sustained front and nearside damage to the bodywork and I would ask anyone who may have seen the vehicle, or have information about its owner, to please come forward.

“If you were driving the vehicle at the time of the collision, please do the right thing and get in touch so we can take your account of what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email at scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55240051819.
