Organix marks B Corp Month with activities including a beach clean

A Bournemouth company which has become the UK’s number one baby finger food and toddler snack brand is organising a number of activities to mark B Corp Month.

Organix is one of just 8,000 companies across the globe to be verified by B Lab as meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

Planned activities this month include a beach clean.

Nikki Barry, Sustainability Manager, pictured, said: “B Corp is a very vigorous process. It took us nearly two years to get through the whole process.

“Your impact is measured across five key areas – community, customers, environment, governance and workers so it covers all aspects of the business.

“Everyone was involved, from finance to HR. It crosses the whole business, it’s not just one person’s job.

“It’s all about using business as a force for good.

“It makes you look at yourself as a business internally and to see what you’re doing and making sure that you’re really being the best you possibly can for people and planet.

“March is B Corp Month and this allows all B Corps to raise awareness of what it means to be a B Corp.

“We’ve got lots of activities going on this month. We’ve actually had our windows painted with a beautiful B Corp mural.

“We’ve got Surfers Against Sewage coming in and they’re going to be doing a learning lunch for us and then we’re going to be doing a beach clean at the end of the month.

“The whole business will be involved. We’ll go down on our lunch break and clean up the beach.

“We’re so lucky to live where we do in this beautiful environment and we really want to make a difference and help.”
