Male rider in his teens seriously injured in collision with car

A collision involving a car and a motorcycle has left a teenager with serious injuries.

Corhampton Road in Bournemouth was closed for several hours while police investigated the collision between a yellow Fiat Panda hatchback and a Peugeot motorcycle yesterday afternoon.

The male rider – aged in his teens – was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of Dorset Police’s traffic unit, said: “A road closure remained in place for several hours while officers investigated the collision and I would like to thank members of the public for their patience during this time.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to the collision, to please come forward.

“Also, I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage from Christchurch Road from around 2pm to 2.40pm on Monday 22 January 2024.”
