Bournemouth University Board member awarded with CBE

Bournemouth University Board member Karl Hoods has been awarded a CBE for services to technology and education.

Karl graduated from his studies in Information and Systems Management at BU in 1996. He has led and transformed large technology and digital functions in challenging environments.

He is currently working as Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

He has worked in similar roles at Save the Children, the Department for Education and Partnerships for Schools.

Karl said: “I’m proud to have been recognised for three things I love. I’ve particularly enjoyed the contributions I’ve been able to make to the Harris Federation, Bournemouth University and King’s College London’s Industry Advisory Board.”
