Sandbank Ferry out of service for the month of November

The Sandbanks ferry service is closed for at least four weeks during the month of November.

The ferry is undergoing a planned refit so no crossing is available to vehicles or foot passengers between Sandbanks and Studland.

Crossings are hoped to be running again in early December, but will be confirmed nearer the time and is subject to the weather.

The ferry undergoes a refit every two years and alternates between major and minor refits. This month it will be towed to Falmouth and undergo a dry dock major refit.

During refit, the Ferry Office is closed for both phone calls and visits from the public. If you need to contact the company, email mail@sandbanksferry.co.uk.

Jason du Toit, the ferry’s Managing Director, said: “As with everything, the better we care for the ferry, the fewer disruptions to service we will have. I understand that during this time there may be an inconvenience and for that I apologise.

“However, refits are a time for us to ensure the vessel is safe and ready to carry passengers for the next few years.”
