Verwood Choral Society held a recent concert evening to raise money for the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital via the McMillan Caring at Home charity.
The charity was chosen by members of the choir and a total of £750.00 was raised for this very worth cause.
The event, on Saturday the 25th of May, featured songs from Phantom of the Opera, Abba, Les Misables among other popular music.
A spokesperson for the group said: “If you love singing and are interested in joining our friendly group, while raising money for local causes, why not try our choir. It is a great way of meeting new people of all ages, make friends and, the bonus is there are no auditions. We rehearse on Monday evenings between 7.00pm – 8.30pm at St Michael’s Church, Verwood.
“Please e-mail casampson@tiscali.co.uk or simply come along from 9 September which is when we start to prepare for our Christmas Concert in aid of another worthy charity.”
