Silver for Highcliffe Castle at the South West Tourism Awards

Staff at Highcliffe Castle are celebrating after taking home silver for the Business, Events and Wedding Venue of the Year in the South West Tourism Awards.

It’s the second award win in two months for the outstanding team.

This latest accolade recognises all the hard work the staff, volunteers and suppliers put into making sure every couple has an amazing experience on their special day, at this stunning venue.

The award follows on from the team’s success in the Dorset Tourism Awards in February, where they won a Gold award.

Heritage Team Leader at the Castle, Katie Ingham said: “We are delighted to accept this award on behalf of all the staff who help to transform the Castle into the perfect wedding venue for every couple and their guests. A lot of hard work goes into ensuring our weddings run smoothly, and to be recognised in these awards is a great accomplishment for us all.

“We’re all looking forward to an exciting year ahead, helping create many more magical moments for our newlyweds.”

Owned and operated by BCP Council, Highcliffe Castle is a Grade 1 listed building nestled on the cliff top overlooking Christchurch Bay. The Castle has been home to a number of royal and notable guests over the years, and having withstood two fires in the 1960s, has risen to become the treasured building it is today.

Councillor Beverley Dunlop, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Vibrant Places, BCP Council commented: “This is an outstanding achievement for Highcliffe Castle and one that all the staff should be very proud of, as they are the ones behind the scenes ensuring everyone has the perfect wedding day.

“The past two years have been unlike any other for everyone – including the wedding industry, with expectant couples often having to find new and innovative ways of hosting their special day with limited numbers. Highcliffe Castle has risen to the challenge and this accolade recognises and rewards all the hard work that goes into creating the dream wedding venue, so I’m delighted for everyone at the Castle.”
