Love was in the air at the weekend as Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf played host to its first wedding couple on Saturday.
Tying the knot at Bournemouth Town Hall, Bride and Groom Becki and Ricky Sherred, from Eastleigh, chose to give their guests an unusual wedding day treat with a special round of adventure mini-golf.
After making their way through Bournemouth’s historic gardens, the wedding party landed at Smugglers Cove, Pier Approach on Bournemouth’s seafront for exclusive use of the site.
The Cove’s Moonshadow Gang created a specially decorated area for photos whilst guests relaxed and recharged with refreshments supplied by the Prom Café.
After a competitive round played by the happy couple and their 27 guests over 18 holes filled with waterfalls, rocks and church ruins, Cap’n Ed’s Crew were the winning team with William crowned overall winner on the day with a score of 50.
Bride Becki Sherred, said: “Bournemouth is one of our favourite places which is why we chose to have our wedding here. We wanted to do something really fun and unusual for our family and friends and the Smugglers team were amazing and looked after us so well. It was the perfect activity and certainly caused some family-friendly rivalry on the day!”
Becki and Ricky received a surprise Smugglers Cove hamper which amongst a host of other gifts included a voucher for dinner and drinks for two at the Marsham Court Hotel, a discounted stay at Bournemouth Beach Lodges, a Smugglers Cove inspired selfie-photo frame for pictures on the day and their very own pink and green golf balls to match their wedding colours.
Guests received their own bespoke gift bags filled with a wide selection of presents to remember the day including Dorset Tea plus a tea chest strainer, a discounted cream tea voucher for two at the Marsham Court Hotel and a Smugglers Cove golf voucher.
As a special treat everyone received a bespoke cookie from Diamond Baker in the shape of a barrel or treasure chest, with a special cookie scroll for the couple.
Yessica Falcon, Manager and Smuggler-in-Chief said: “It’s been wonderful to be part of Becki and Ricky’s special day, helping them to create some fun that their friends and family will remember forever. We wish them every happiness for the future and hope that they’ll join us for a first anniversary re-match next year!”
Cllr Mohan Iyengar, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Leisure and Culture added: “No ifs or putts, a Smugglers Cove golf wedding challenge is certainly a tee-rriffic way to celebrate!”
