Lady rescued from St Stephens Castle after fall

Ambulance and Fire crews were called to St Stephens Castle on Saturday afternoon following reports of a lady with a leg injury.

Paramedics stretchered the lady to an ambulance, assisted by fire crews from Verwood and Poole.

The lady, from Verwood, was out walking with her husband and grandchildren when the fall occurred. She was later recovering from a broken ankle.

Crews from Verwood Fire Station posted on social media, saying: “A very kind lady lent a scarf and the casualties husband wishes to pass on his thanks. Your scarf is at the fire station, please message us or pop in on Tuesday evening from 7pm so we can return it to you.

“Please take care whilst out enjoying our lovely surroundings, it’s really slippery in places.”
