B3081 Verwood Road in Ringwood is controlled because of temporary traffic lights at the Alderholt junction just north of the A31 turning.
The multi-way lights, which appeared on Thursday morning, are expected to be cleared tomorrow, Friday.
Delays are already happening and are expected to get worse in rush hour.
