{"id":71821,"date":"2024-01-15T06:00:20","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T06:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/?p=71821"},"modified":"2024-01-15T07:31:51","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T07:31:51","slug":"lets-brew-this-bournemouth-samaritans-dismantle-blue-monday-once-and-for-all","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/test\/lets-brew-this-bournemouth-samaritans-dismantle-blue-monday-once-and-for-all\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s Brew this! &#8211; Bournemouth Samaritans dismantle \u2018Blue Monday\u2019 once and for all"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Samaritans are reminding everyone to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with the people you care about.<\/p>\n<p>The charity has dubbed today, Monday January 15, Brew Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Bournemouth &amp; District branch is joining forces with South Western Railway to host an event at Bournemouth Rail Station from eight this morning to four o&#8217;clock this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers and rail staff will be handing out tea bags and chatting to passengers about the power of connecting.<\/p>\n<p>The third Monday of the year has been labelled by some as Blue Monday &#8211; and the saddest day of the year &#8211; due to the winter weather, post-Christmas slump and cost of living pressures,<\/p>\n<p>But the suicide prevention charity has long campaigned to dispel the myth and says it plans to turn the day into something positive by running Brew Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie, Samaritans of Bournemouth and District Branch Director, said: \u201cAt Samaritans, we\u2019re consistently busy responding to a call for help every ten seconds, every hour of every day of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know that people find life difficult at all times of the year, not just one day in January.
