A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after being found in a Christchurch road.<\/p>\n
The man, in his 50s and from Bournemouth, had head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to hospital.<\/p>\n
He was discovered on the eastbound carriageway of Barrack Road, between the Bailey roundabout and the Stour Road junction, just before quarter to six last night.<\/p>\n
The road was closed during the evening and traffic diverted.<\/p>\n
Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the Roads Policing Team, said: \u201cWe are carrying out enquiries to establish how the cyclist came to sustain his injuries.<\/p>\n
“I am appealing to anyone who saw a man on a black and blue Scott mountain bike in the area of Barrack Road on the evening of Sunday 7 January 2024 to please contact us.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.\u201d<\/p>\n
