{"id":71287,"date":"2023-12-22T11:41:52","date_gmt":"2023-12-22T11:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/?p=71287"},"modified":"2024-01-05T10:53:11","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T10:53:11","slug":"help-your-ambulance-service-this-festive-period-urges-nhs-trust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/test\/help-your-ambulance-service-this-festive-period-urges-nhs-trust\/","title":{"rendered":"Help your ambulance service this festive period urges NHS trust"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"postie-post\">\n<p>Please use ambulance services responsibly over the festive season.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s the message from the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) which runs Dorset&#8217;s ambulances.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s expecting a busy and challenging time across its 999 services with Boxing Day traditionally the busiest day over the festive break.<\/p>\n<p>The trust is urging people to only call 999 when someone is seriously injured or ill and their life may be at risk. <\/p>\n<p>For example, if someone is unconscious, not breathing or is bleeding heavily.<\/p>\n<p>For non-life-threatening emergencies, appropriate care can be accessed by visiting NHS 111 online, contacting your GP or getting advice from a pharmacy.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Darch, Deputy Director of Operations at SWASFT, said: \u201cWe want everyone to enjoy the festive celebrations, and we\u2019re urging local communities to use our services responsibly, and choose the right care for them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to be there for everyone that needs us in a medical emergency, to ensure this, we need to have crews available for patients with the most life-threatening conditions. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please only call 999 if someone is seriously injured or ill, for anything else, please contact NHS 111.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank our people and NHS colleagues who will be working throughout the Christmas and New Year period to help keep us all safe and well. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Should you need their support, please be kind to them, they are working hard under huge daily pressures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swast.nhs.uk\/welcome\">https:\/\/www.swast.nhs.uk\/welcome<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/assets.knack-eu.com\/assets\/6089b975838c24001b931b31\/658574077125ae00289984f3\/original\/thesouthwesternambulanceservicenhsfoundationtrustswasftisurgingcommunitiesacrosstheregiontouseitsservicesresponsiblythiswinterasitpreparesforachallengingperiod.1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u200c<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please use ambulance services responsibly over the festive season.
