{"id":62295,"date":"2022-12-22T15:28:01","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T15:28:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/?p=62295"},"modified":"2022-12-22T15:29:11","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T15:29:11","slug":"over-four-million-visitors-see-bournemouth-and-pooles-christmas-lights-displays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/test\/over-four-million-visitors-see-bournemouth-and-pooles-christmas-lights-displays\/","title":{"rendered":"Over four million visitors see Bournemouth and Poole&#8217;s Christmas lights displays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bournemouth\u2019s Christmas Tree Wonderland and the new Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival have seen 4.4 million visitors so far this year with thousands more expected over Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>These major, free-to-attend Christmas light festivals will be in situ until 2 January 2023 so there is still plenty of time to visit.<\/p>\n<p>In Bournemouth, Christmas Tree Wonderland features a huge variety of light installations including numerous replica Christmas Trees from around the world. (BIDs). These are the Bournemouth Town Centre and Coastal BIDs for Christmas Tree Wonderland while the Christmas Maritime Light Festival is supported by Poole BID. <\/p>\n<p>Other event sponsors include South Western Railway, Morebus and Wave 105.  <\/p>\n<p>Jon Weaver, Head of Destination and Events, BCP Council commented: \u201cOur Christmas offering this year is bigger than ever before, with two light trails that weave through each town as well as the Yuletide Festival in Christchurch, organised and funded by Christchurch BID.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese events are free to visit and as our footfall data shows, they bring residents and visitors from far and wide to our area, enjoying everything that is on offer. A Christmas market selling a variety of gifts and festive food, a two-storey Alpine Bar and SKATE ice rink have also helped to draw in the crowds to enjoy some festive cheer.  <\/p>\n<p>In Poole, the brand-new Christmas Maritime Light Festival, has attracted people to Poole to enjoy the nautical-themed light installations which include a five-metre tall ship, a walk through bauble and some festive Christmas trees with maritime-themed decorations and Christmas choirs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bournemouth\u2019s Christmas Tree Wonderland and the new Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival have seen 4.4 million visitors so far this year with thousands more expected over Christmas.
