The annual Drive-in Movies experience is returning to the Old Holmsley Aerodrome in the New Forest this year with tickets now available.<\/p>\n
Elf, Home Alone, The Polar Express, Love Actually and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are just some of the films showing on the big screen between December 16th and 19th 2022.<\/p>\n
The event features food and drink before and during the movies, with car delivery service available.<\/p>\n
However, organiser Emma Preston has informed those with tickets already that the event might be cancelled if more tickets aren’t sold to at least cover the cost of the event.<\/p>\n
In an email sent to customers today, Emma said: “The cost of the event has always been high and has now risen substantially, we need to sell 95% of each movie to break even. This is due to the hire of the screen being exceptionally high as it is a very expensive piece of equipment as well as having to give 40% in royalties back to the film owners. Then there are the other cost of staff, insurance, toilets, electrics etc etc. <\/p>\n
“Being a 1 woman band I unfortunately don\u2019t have the capital to cover the event if we don\u2019t break even.”<\/p>\n
