{"id":53692,"date":"2022-07-14T13:49:30","date_gmt":"2022-07-14T12:49:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bournemouthtoday.com\/?p=53692"},"modified":"2022-07-14T13:49:30","modified_gmt":"2022-07-14T12:49:30","slug":"festival-coast-live-returns-for-another-summer-of-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.bournemouthone.com\/test\/festival-coast-live-returns-for-another-summer-of-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Festival Coast Live! returns for another summer of fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s less than a week before Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole welcomes back the Festival Coast Live! 2022 summer season.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Beginning on Friday 22 July the ambitious summer programme promises to inspire and delight audiences with a packed programme of free music and activities in popular locations across the 3 towns including the Lower Gardens, The Triangle, Horseshoe Common, Christchurch Quay, Ashley Cross and Poole Quay.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Beverley Dunlop, Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Vibrant Places said: \u201cFestival Coast Live! harnesses the love of arts, music and performance that is built into the fabric of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, and brings a wealth of free entertainment to residents and visitors. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Popular local acts perform alongside new talent creating a rich line up of diverse and eclectic entertainment. We are proud of the investment that we have made to support local talent enabling us to bring this outstanding celebration of our musical and arts communities to our towns. There\u2019s no better place to be this summer!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Building on the success of last year\u2019s Festival Coast Live! which saw over 50 artists entertain in over 10 locations, music events curator Tor Byrnes from We Broke Free said: \u201cWe are thrilled to curate most of the live music stages at this year&#8217;s Festival Coast Live! We have been a part of the local music scene for over 10 years, working in the industry across the country with venues and festivals and we aim to showcase the best musical talent in the local area for residents and visitors to enjoy over the summer season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Festival Coast Live 2021 Highlights\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RT11-oFlFxg?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Poole Quay stage will be curated by Slick Events Ltd providing entertainment every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the 6 weeks of the summer season.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Somogyi from SoundStorm and Wave, BCP Council\u2019s music and arts education agency said: \u201cWe are delighted to be part of Festival Coast Live! once again this year. We\u2019ll have an array of free music and arts activities in the Stretch Tent in Bournemouth\u2019s Lower Gardens most weekdays throughout August for children and their families. Each week will feature one activity such as the popular ukulele making, the King Brass New Orleans brass quintet (with percussion workshops), West African drumming and dance and a visual arts club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steamship Circus are returning and promise to bring something truly unique with their walkabout performances and shows once again. Harley Strong, spokesperson for Steamship Circus said: \u201cWe are super excited to be programming entertainment and workshops again for this year&#8217;s Festival Coast Live! We love the freedom and connection we get through FCL!, and it&#8217;s great to work so closely within our local communities.
