A Dorset motor show has raised more than £42,000 for people living with sight loss.
The 10th annual Dorset Blind Association Motor Show was held at Lulworth Castle on Sunday 17 May, with organisers estimating more than 8,000 visitors attended across the day despite an unsettled weather forecast.
More than 300 vehicles were displayed at the event, including classic and vintage models alongside modern supercars, making it one of the largest displays in the show’s history.
The day also included family activities, entertainment, food and drink, and artisan stalls in the grounds of Lulworth Castle, with support from sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers and members of the public.
Sam Baker, Community Relations Officer at Dorset Blind Association, said reaching the 10th Motor Show and raising more than £42,000 was something the charity was “incredibly proud of”.
She said every pound raised would “make a real difference” to blind and partially sighted people across Dorset, helping the charity continue its support and services.
Dorset Blind Association, founded in 1918, supports more than 1,000 members every month through practical help, social activities, equipment advice and wellbeing services.
Planning is now underway for the next Dorset Blind Association Motor Show in 2027.
