Coastal Comedy launches Ferndown venue

A new live comedy night is launching at The Barrington Arts Centre in Ferndown this month.

Coastal Comedy is marking its 11th year by adding the Ferndown venue to its programme, following previous shows across Bournemouth, Poole and Ringwood.

The launch event takes place on Friday 29 May, with 3 professional comedians and a host. The line-up includes Mike Gunn, Fiona Allen and Alan Francis, with Adrienne Coles hosting the evening.

Adrienne Coles, CEO of Coastal Comedy, said: “There’s a big call for comedy in the area.” She added that live comedy offers people “funny flashbacks” after the show.

Mike Gunn will headline the first Ferndown event. His TV appearances include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Celebrity Deal or No Deal and Harry Hill’s TV Burp.

Fiona Allen will open the show. She is known for Smack the Pony, as well as roles in Skins, EastEnders and Waterloo Road.

Alan Francis, who won Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny? at the 1991 Edinburgh Festival, is also on the bill.

The new night will be held at The Barrington Arts Centre in Penny’s Walk, Ferndown.
