Dorset Art Weeks goes annual in 2026

Dorset Art Weeks will return from 23 May to 7 June 2026 with a new annual format.

The 16 day event will feature 294 venues across the county, including open studios, workshops, group shows and curated exhibitions, giving visitors the chance to meet artists at every stage of their careers and buy original work directly.

Studios and exhibition spaces will open in town centres, urban areas and rural locations, with organisers encouraging people to explore different parts of Dorset and use the free guide, available from April, to plan visits across the county.

A new headline commission for 2026, titled FLOW, will present work by Debbie Lee in the Threshing Barn at Bere Marsh Farm in Shillingstone, delivered in partnership with the Countryside Regeneration Trust and supported by Hall and Woodhouse.

Anthony Woodhouse of Hall and Woodhouse said the move from a biennial to an annual event will help maintain engagement with Dorset’s artists and support the wider tourism economy.

Dorset Art Weeks is organised by Dorset Visual Arts, a registered charity supporting visual artists and makers at all stages of their careers.
