A web app that helps families and individuals find their nearest food support service has been given a revamp, making it easier and quicker to use.
The Access to Food Partnership Map App lists a range of different food support available across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
It includes food banks, community fridges, social supermarkets, community meals, cookery workshops and emergency food services.
With a re-designed map to help users easily locate the service they need; the new look web app also includes a ‘What’s open now’ feature and a current list of services including opening times.
Alistair Doxat-Purser, Chair of the Access to Food Partnership said: “With a range of different services across BCP, our new Map App makes it even easier for people to find their nearest food support, whether this be a food bank if they have a referral, a free or low-cost meal, or surplus food through a social supermarket or community fridge.
“The newly designed app also makes it simple for us to update should there be a change to a service or opening hours, greatly improving the user experience.”The revamp comes at a key time for services, as they start to see an increase in requests for food support as we move into the festive season.
“Many individuals and families who are already struggling financially find this time of year particularly hard.”
The app is designed by Poole agency V88 which specialises in no-code business solutions.
It can be viewed and downloaded through your usual web browser on your mobile phone, tablet or laptop/computer.
