New movie shot around Dorset by Bournemouth-based director to get Lighthouse screening

A new movie which was shot around the Dorset area, including Poole Harbour and Bournemouth, is to get a special Q&A screening at Lighthouse Poole tomorrow.

Die Before You Die is already being screened at selected cinemas and has been described as “pulse-racing”, “deeply unnerving” and “tense and thought-provoking”.

The plot involves a hot-headed influencer who finds himself trapped six feet underground after an internet challenge goes dramatically wrong.

Bournemouth-based director Dan Pringle says he’s looking forward to the Lighthouse event.

He told Bournemouth One: “The film was obviously shot in the local area and it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support and hard work of a lot of local cast crew and servicing companies.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing the reaction of the local audience to seeing the area up on the big screen.”

In addition to his film, Dan has helped set up and launch the area’s new film council, the BCP Film Office: https://www.bcpfilmoffice.co.uk/

He filmed and recorded 200+ locations in the area to create a locations directory, promoting Dorset for filmmaking.

A launch event for the BCP Film Office is being held on Thursday.

Dan said: “When people think about Bournemouth they think about golden stretches of beach.

“We do have those and they are incredible but the area is actually a hell of a lot more visually diverse and eclectic that that.

“There is so much more on offer.”
