AFC Bournemouth fight back to earn draw with United

Bournemouth recovered twice to secure a 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium tonight (Friday).

A quiet first half gave way to a dramatic second period, with United taking the lead on 61 minutes when Bruno Fernandes converted from the penalty spot after a foul in the area.

The Cherries responded well and were back on level terms six minutes later, as Ryan Christie finished from close range following good work from Adrien Truffert to make it 1-1.

United regained the advantage on 71 minutes when James Hill turned the ball into his own net under pressure, putting the visitors back in front during a spell where Bournemouth were pushing forward.

The momentum shifted again late on when Harry Maguire was sent off for conceding a penalty, and Junior Kroupi stepped up to score from the spot on 81 minutes to bring Bournemouth level once more.

There were further chances in added time, including a header from Evanilson that went over, but neither side could find a winner as the match ended level after an extended stoppage period.
