Man charged after Boscombe hate incidents

A man has been charged following reports of hate crime in Boscombe.

Dorset Police say two incidents were reported on the morning of Tuesday 10 March 2026 involving a man allegedly verbally abusing two Jewish men in the area of Manor Road.

Officers say one of the victims was reportedly targeted again on the morning of Wednesday 18 March when the same suspect allegedly made further comments referencing the victim’s Jewish heritage.

An investigation by the Bournemouth East Neighbourhood Policing Team led to the identification and arrest of a 45 year old local man.

He has been charged with 3 counts of a religiously aggravated public order offence as well as criminal damage relating to alleged damage to a police cell while in custody.

The man is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 20 March 2026.

Police Constable Jo Morgan said officers are committed to taking action against hate crime and added that reassurance patrols will continue while the case proceeds through the courts.
