Suzi Quatro celebrates career at Pavilion
Rock singer Suzi Quatro will perform a live concert in Bournemouth as part of her touring show.
The musician is set to appear at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on 20 April, bringing a performance that marks 62 years since the start of her career in rock and roll.
Born in Michigan in the United States, Quatro began performing in bands before her breakthrough came when producer Mickie Most saw her performing live and invited her to move to England in 1971.
She soon achieved chart success with the single Can The Can, written by the songwriting team Chinn and Chapman, which sold more than 2 million copies and launched her career internationally.
Quatro has since sold more than 55 million records and spent 101 weeks in the UK charts between 1973 and 1980, with songs including 48 Crash, Devil Gate Drive and If You Can’t Give Me Love.
Her career has also included acting, broadcasting and writing, alongside recording new albums and collaborating with other musicians including KT Tunstall.
Quatro said “It’s my 62nd year in the business, and it still feels like I’ve just started” as she prepares to perform many of the songs that have defined her long career.”
