Poole’s new Vue cinema is opening at Tower Park this Friday, 15th August, with 10 screens and reclining seats.
Vue Poole will be the company’s first cinema in Dorset and the ninety-fourth across the UK and Ireland. It is opening in the former Cineworld site at Tower Park, which closed in January.
The Ultra Lux seats, currently available at only a small number of Vue cinemas nationwide, are wider, recline at both the back and legs independently, and come with a personal wine cooler to keep drinks chilled.
Vue says the venue will use Laser by Barco projection in all screens, designed to deliver brighter, sharper and more vibrant images. Customers will also be able to make use of Vue Your Way, a self-serve system allowing them to scan their ticket, select snacks and drinks at their own pace, and pay at self-checkouts.
Later in the year, further developments are planned, including additional screens fitted exclusively with Ultra Lux seating and a private bar for customers using those screens.
Its launch comes ahead of an autumn film season that will include new releases such as Freakier Friday, Tron: Ares, Wicked: For Good and Avatar: Fire and Ash, alongside re-releases of classic films and special big-screen events.
Narinder Shergill, General Manager of Vue UK and Ireland, said the Poole site will offer “a completely fresh and new big screen experience for film fans”, adding that the combination of Lux and Ultra Lux seating with Vue Your Way would make visits “flexible” and “comfortable”.
