Dorset Police officers and staff honoured for life-saving actions

Dorset Police officers and staff have been recognised for their outstanding service at the latest Dorset Police Awards Ceremony.

PC Lily Edgar and PC Matthew Roberts received the prestigious Royal Humane Society Award for saving a two-year-old child in cardiac arrest. Arriving before paramedics, their swift actions helped the child regain consciousness.

Among other honorees, PC Mike Green and Police Dog Gerri were awarded a Chief Constable’s Commendation for rescuing a high-risk missing person in a remote area, with Green administering life-saving treatment.

The ceremony, on March 13th 2025, also honoured long-serving staff and volunteers, including Trevor Antell of Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR), who was commended for 19 years of dedicated service.

Chief Constable Amanda Pearson praised the recipients, highlighting their commitment to keeping Dorset safe.

Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick also expressed gratitude, emphasising the vital role officers, staff, and volunteers play in protecting the community.
