Sand, sea and fun – don’t delay with registrations now open for this year’s Vitality Bay Run

Registrations are now open for this year’s Vitality Bay Run which takes place in just 11 days’ time.

More than 3,000 people will be running on Sunday March 23 against the backdrop of Bournemouth’s seven-mile stretch of beaches and Poole Bay.

Runners of all ages and abilities will be taking part in the half marathon, 10km, 5km and 1km childrens’ races.

The event promotes a healthy, active lifestyle in the community and supports local charities, including Dorset Mind, Bournemouth Foodbank, Forest Holme Hospice and Healthbus Trust.

Health and Life insurer Vitality is continuing its partnership with BCP Council as the title sponsor and Official Wellness Partner of the Vitality Bay Run for a further three years.

Fitness trainers from BCP Leisure teams will support on the day, providing warm up and animation in the race village, situated in the Lower Gardens.

Cllr Richard Herrett, Portfolio Holder for Destination, Leisure and Commercial Operations, said: “The Vitality Bay Run is a great example of how sport brings our community together, especially when the backdrop is our beautiful coastline.

“We’re so pleased to have Vitality’s continued support as we inspire participants to keep active and healthy, particularly as part of an event that raises so much for good causes.”

Nick Read, Managing Director of the Vitality Programme, said: “As one of the largest employers in the area, we’re immensely proud to continue to sponsor this landmark event in the local running calendar for the next three years.

“The Vitality Bay Run is a fantastic event that brings the community together, inspiring people of all ages and abilities to get active and embrace healthier, more active lifestyles – something that is at the heart of everything we do at Vitality.”
