Littledown Leisure Centre in Bournemouth praised by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

BH Live’s team at Littledown have been applauded by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance for their quick and professional response to emergencies.

DSAA Team Appreciation letters are sent to individuals or teams whose actions, words or behaviours are recognised as being “exceptional” and “above and beyond” expectations.

The centre recently received a certificate for their “rapid” and “outstanding” administration of CPR and defibrillation to a visitor who experienced a cardiac arrest at the centre. Emergency services quickly attended, with the visitor later making a full recovery.

Jo Weedall, Littledown’s Recreation Manager, has personally administered CPR to 10 people across her 36 year career at the centre.

Colleagues were commended for their training and development, with teams regularly engaging in simulated emergencies and drills throughout the year.

On behalf of BH Live, Rob Cunningham, Director of Leisure and Business Development said: “We are incredibly proud of the team at Littledown. To be recognised by Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is a real achievement and a testament to our colleagues’ dedication.

“We hope customers continue to feel confident in their safety, and our teams’ quick response to incidents when visiting the centre.”

Cllr Richard Herrett, Portfolio Holder for Destination, Leisure and Commercial Operations, added: “The commendation from Dorset Air Ambulance is a superb achievement and a real recognition of BH Live’s professionalism, highlighting their compassion towards our community.”
