A man has died after being rescued from the water at Poole Quay on Tuesday afternoon.
An emergency response with multiple services took place around 1pm after concern was raised for the welfare of a man in the water.
Officers attended with the ambulance and fire services, as well as the coastguard and RNLI.
Very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM coroner has been notified.
Dorset Police confirmed the news to Bournemouth One, saying: “The man’s next of kin has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
A cordon was put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident. It was lifted at around 2.45pm.
Dorset Police, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, South Western Ambulance Service and the RNLI were all on the scene.
The fire service said: “We were called at 1:12pm today to assist Police with an incident at Poole Quay.
“One fire engine along with the technical rescue team from Poole attended and assisted Police and the RNLI with a rescue from water.”
In addition, a spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “We were called at 13:26hrs on Tuesday 22 October to an incident in Poole.
“We sent one double-crewed ambulance, a critical care car and an operations officer to the scene.”
