Mermaid sand sculpture appears on Bournemouth Beach to celebrate new restaurant arrival

A mermaid sand sculpture appeared on Bournemouth Beach earlier today to celebrate the arrival of a new restaurant.

The Ivy Collection unveiled the five-foot tall, hand-crafted mermaid near the pier, whilst vintage vocal harmony trio, The Bluebird Belles, provided entertainment.

Waiters from The Ivy were also on hand to greet visitors with coffee and fizz, as well as a voucher for a complimentary glass of Champagne when visiting the restaurant.

The reservation line launch comes with the official announcement of the opening date for the new Ivy Bournemouth Brasserie, which will be welcoming diners through its doors from Tuesday 12th November 2024.

Speaking on the pop-up, General Manager Barnaby Harris-Reid, told Bournemouth One: “Today has been a brilliant opportunity for the team at The Ivy Bournemouth Brasserie to really feel part of the community and give locals a flavour of the service and indulgence they can expect from our exquisite new restaurant.

“We are so excited to be welcoming guests in just over a month and reveal our stunning brasserie to the Bournemouth community.”

The new opening will be The Ivy Collection’s 42nd restaurant and create 120 jobs.
