Investigation underway after fire in derelict building causes major disruption in Poole
Investigators are today trying to establish the cause of a fire near Poole Bridge last night which caused major disruption.
At its height around 30 firefighters were tackling the blaze involving a derelict building off Jefferson Avenue with crews from Poole, Hamworthy, Westbourne, Redhill Park and Wimborne attending.
The aerial ladder platform from Westbourne was also used.
The fire was reported at 6.15pm with the last firefighter leaving around four hours later.
Morebus diverted three of its services – the 8, 9 and 60 – due to the fire.
Residents in the area were advised to keep their doors and windows shut due to the large amount of smoke created.
