Greener homes across Dorset will be open to visitors this weekend and next.
The annual event, now in its fourth year, takes places tomorrow and Sunday as well as the following weekend.
Almost 40 homes are taking part in the event county-wide to showcase greener and sustainable energy installed in their homes.
Many feature solar panels, battery storage, air and ground source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation; others show low cost solutions, using natural materials which can be recycled at the end of the life of the building, and wildlife-friendly gardens.
Homeowners will be offering their advice for people considering making sustainable and greener energy changes to their homes, with detailed knowledge of the installation processes, costs and healthy payback times on investment.
Most of the homes are open for at least one or two days on both weekends with some requiring prior booking – the full details and opening times can be found at www.dorsetgreenerhomes.org.

The event is one of Dorset Climate Action Network’s (DorsetCANs) main projects as it continues to offer residents of Dorset an opportunity to learn more about greener energy solutions.
