Four candidates to stand in election to be next Dorset Police & Crime Commissioner

Four candidates are to stand in the election to be Dorset’s next Police & Crime Commissioner.

The current holder, Conservative David Sidwick, will be up against Howard Legg, for the Liberal Democrats; Labour candidate David Stokes and Independent Marianne Storey.

The election is on Thursday May 2.

The same day will also see a by-election in BCP Council’s Canford Cliffs ward and elections for all 82 seats on Dorset Council.

The four candidates standing in Canford Cliffs are:

  • Jim Buchanan, Labour Party
  • Ray Sparrow, Liberal Democrats
  • Johnny Tutton, Green Party
  • Gavin Wright, Conservative & Unionist Party

You must register by Tuesday 16 April 2024 to be eligible to vote in the above elections.

Voters in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole will need to show photo ID to be eligible to vote in person and by proxy.
