Yellow wind warning issued with gusts of up to 62 mph predicted for BCP

Strong winds and large coastal waves are expected to hit Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole today.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning with gusts of up to 62 miles an hour predicted.

The warning is in place until six o’clock tonight.

The strong winds are expected to be accompanied by heavy, squally showers.

There is also the possibility of hail and thunder in some locations.

Forecasters have warned that road, rail, air and ferry services could be affected.

There is also a slight chance of power cuts and mobile phone coverage could be affected.
