Bournemouth East MP launches petition to save Kings Park Nursery

A petition has been launched to save Bournemouth’s Kings Park Nursery.

BCP Council announced yesterday that the nursery is to close permanently due to budget cuts.

It’s been growing plants for Bournemouth’s parks and gardens since 1924 and also sells plants to the public.

The council says the closure was a difficult decision but it will save £85,000 in the next financial year.

Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood, pictured, has now started the Save Kings Park Nursery petition.

He says that in a bid to reduce costs, BCP Council is wrongly turning its attention to leisure, cultural and community assets which bring joy to residents and support communities.
