Rail company warns services could be disrupted by heavy rain

Heavy rain is expected to cause major disruption to rail services this afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for severe weather across Dorset and Southern England.

It says between 20 and 30 millimetres of rain could fall – and perhaps as much as 50 millimetres.

South Western Railway has warned its services could be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Severe disruption is expected until the end of the day.
