The A351 Sandford Road between Blackhill Road and Organford Road is closed due to an incident.
An overturned crane is blocking the road and emergency services are currently on the scene but traffic is coping well.
Early reports suggest a lorry is on fire whilst Dorset Police say a crane has overturned.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service say the road is expected to be closed for some time whilst recovery takes place.
