Lidl is planning to make its car park bigger by demolishing and resurfacing the plot previously used by 1 Shard Close in Verwood.
Permission was granted by the authorities to demolish the property before the store opened and work is almost complete on the site.
Planning permission to extend the car park has now been applied for.
The plot previously housed a single detached dwelling house with an associated attached garage, but this has now gone ready for the extra car parking space.
Three houses remain on Shard Close.
The store, which opened in September 2021, was built on a former caravan store and two residential properties (76 and 78 Ringwood Road) covering a total area of 1.6 acres.
The car park currently provides 79 free bays of which 6 are disabled spaces and 6 are parent and child spaces at the front of the property. There are also spaces for bikes and two paid-for chargers for electric vehicles.
