Man charged over reported attempted robbery in Bournemouth
A man has been charged and is due to appear in court in connection with a reported attempted robbery in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police was called at 9.05pm on Friday 29 November 2019 to a report of an attempted robbery at Wallisdown News on Wallisdown Road. It is alleged that a man threatened a staff member with a knife and demanded money to be emptied from the till.
A reported altercation occurred during which the victim sustained an injury to his hand. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following enquiries, a 39-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested in connection with the incident. He has now been charged with attempted robbery, assault and possession of a knife or bladed article in a public place and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 22 January 2020.
