Flu vaccinations are to be delivered as drive-through appointments at the Lake Road Surgery in Verwood.
The changes are due to the restrictions in place during the pandemic and will be available for anyone booking an appointment in future.
Volunteers from The Practice Patient Participation Group will help staff with directing traffic into and out of the drive-through clinic site.
“This year, with COVID-19 in circulation, it’s more important than ever that eligible groups are vaccinated to protect them from flu,” says Jo Morris, Practice Manager.
“This new way of running our clinics will allow us to ensure we reach as many patients as possible, who may be reluctant to attend clinics during the pandemic – and to avoid social distancing challenges.”
Flu Vaccination Clinics appointments are currently available for over 65s and “At-Risk” patients aged between 18 and 65. For those aged between 50 and 64 and not in a clinical at-risk group, the earliest flu vaccination appointments will be offered is November, providing there is sufficient vaccine. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.
If you are between 18-65 years old and fall into one of the criteria to have a flu vaccine OR you are 65 years old or over, please call The Cranborne Practice reception on 01202 822825 or 01725 517272 to book your appointment.
